All Around Aspen

I’m Kathryn Saari (my friends call me “Kat”), and like many others, I moved here to spend only ONE winter, and ended up staying. I’ve been here since September 2007, and will agree with the estimated average of 300 sunny days per year! Who knew that Spring & Fall would end up being my two favorite seasons here? I will cover anything everything from outdoor activities, spas & treatments, après ski hangouts, fabulous food, performance venues, art galleries, hotels, trendy boutiques, seasonal festivals, athletic events, and more. The opportunities and experiences in these mountains feel endless, and I invite you to join me in exploring Aspen’s playground as I live it. Kathryn Saari's Profile

Ok. This was a drippy mask. But felt sooo good to take it off 15 minutes later. Here’s what I did:1. Cleanse-1 tbl apple cider vinegar, 1 tbl water. Use cotton pad to cleanse. Rinse with tepid water and pat dry.2. Steam: Use 6 drops essential lavender oil and 1 gallon distilled water. Steam for 10 minutes with a towel over head to open pores.3. Mask: 1 banana, 4 tbl. chickpea flour, 1 egg (mash in a bowl). This is a great protein mask. Chickpea flour is an effective skin-softening exfoliator, it stimulates circulation and rejuvenates tissues. Banana’s rich potassium and vitamin A are natural emollients and help reduce redness and puffiness. The egg tightens pores. Leave it on for 15 minutes and rinse off (tepid water). Pat dry. Ahhhhhhh.4. Tone with rosewater (great astringent). Put one cup rose petals (chemical/dye free) in a bowl. Boil 1 cup water, pour over roses and let steep for 30 minutes. Strain roses and apply to face with cotton balls. You can store it in the fridge for later (use a glass container). 5. Moisturize and sleep well!
